A TWO STOREY NOAH'S ARK PAINTED WOOD PULL TOY
Erzgebirge, circa 1870
Large ark with stenciled paint, hinged lithographed paper roof with
a latch on one side to hold the animals inside and metal wheeled platform. Comes with various size hand painted wooden animals,
minor flaws, such a single missing ear or part of leg, but they can
almost all stand. The deck around the second story is missing,
hinges replaced by leather straps.

on the head of the other. Weights cause the top acrobat to swing
back and forth.

Carved and painted wood, with glass eyes, open mouth, leather ears and original twisted twine tail. Painted dark orange/brown with black stripes. It has a pretty primitive appearance compared to the tiger from Schoenhut's Humpty Dumpty Circus.

on the sliding lid, showing a child receiving instruction in geometry
and with titles in French, German and English. 45 shapes (including cuboids, parallelepiped, tetrahedra, sphere, cone, cylinder, cubes, triangular prism, icosahedron, dodecahedron, etc) and a ruler. Some branded with letters, some with (later) pencil marks. Complete.

Carved and painted wood, with glass eyes, open mouth, leather ears and original twisted rope tail. Painted light yellow/cream with black dots. It looks a lot like the leopard from Schoenhut's Humpty Dumpty Circus, It differs mainly in colour and may have a slightly friendlier appearance.

A carriage with three cages, with bars on the front (one is missing) and hinged doors on the back. On cast iron spoked wheels. The semi-circular roof is made of cardboard. In the cages are three carved wooden wild animals. Some light wear.

Hand-painted and modelled wooden and paper mache figures, arms
of lithographed paper. Hanging from metal rods that could well be original. On one figure a piece broken off from both feet, the other misses a small piece of the nose. This is a smaller version of the ones usually seen.

a painted post horn on both sides, attached with a metal hook the
trailer with two wheels and also a painted post horn. Reflecting the
art style of this period, but in this case with rounded corners as well.
