Wooden box with on the sliding lid a hand colored engraving of the castle Stolzenfels and its name in four languages, containing a set of wooden blocks paper faced with hand colored engravings which when set up vertically build the castle and its wall. Also includes diecut hand colored card soldiers having small wooden stands, two trees and a wooden cannon. Lid slightly damaged.

Hand-painted and modelled wooden and paper mache figures, arms of lithographed paper. Hanging from metal rods that could well be original. On one figure a piece broken off from both feet, the other misses a small piece of the nose. This is a smaller version of the ones usually seen.

Yellow, grey and black painted wooden vehicle with four wheels and a painted post horn on both sides, attached with a metal hook the trailer with two wheels and also a painted post horn. Reflecting the art style of this period, but in this case with rounded corners as well.

A COLOURFUL NOAH'S ARK

Hand painted wooden ark with full hull, brown base and hinged roof that when lifted, exposes the interior storage compartment where the animals are stored. Roof connection replaced by rope. Metal latch also missing. A stamp from the seller in Rotterdam on the inside of the roof. Attached are several painted and carved animals, including some pairs.

A RARE WOODEN FOLD OUT FIGURE OF A NUN
Oberammergau, early 19th Century
Black and white painted torso and skirt that folds out in three parts. Papier-mâché head. When the skirt is unfolded, a detailed and colourful chapel with a miniature nun appears. The head is detachable, the torso serves as a lock.

Thirty paper over wooden blocks. Set is complete and includes six colour depictions of the puzzles that can be made of the cities of Brussels, Warsau, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Salzbrug and Vienna. Original paper covered box with a crack in the lid and some paper loss.
