AN EARLY GROCERY STORE
German, circa 1850, made for the English market
Painted and stenciled wood with faux wood grained lithographed paper drawer and counter fronts. This example is pictured on page 321 of Antique Dolls' Houses, Flora Gill Jacobs 2005. some wear and water staining, split to roof, one drawer incomplete.
This early grocery store is very similar to ones pictured in the mid-nineteenth Erzgebirge toy sample books but has been attributed to Christian Hacker.

A GROCERY STORE
German, circa 1880, probably by C. Hacker
Yellow, brown and grain painted wooden store with a back wall with
twelve drawers, on it paper labels, in the middle section a glass showcase with three shelves. Paper tile floor and wallpaper. On both sides, a fold-out section featuring freestanding display cabinets with glass doors, behind which three shelves. Containing a pair of scales, various accessories, merchandise, food, barels, boxes, tins etc. Broom on the photo is not part of the offer.

A SET OF THREE THEATRE DOLLS
German, circa 1870
All three made entirely of wood, with the hair modelled in the material, painted features, originally dressed in silk clothing trimmed with Dresdner paper. All three standing on a round wooden base. The small figure is less firm around the waist but the clothing holds everything firmly together.

A ROCK & GRANER BUFFET
German, circa 1870
Highly detailed tin furniture with mahogany imitation wood grain. The buffet has two doors in the lower cabinet, behind which is a yellow-painted interior with a shelf. The top has two shelves supported by cast metal winding snakes. Includes pewter accessories, two wooden candlesticks, and a small wooden vase with flowers. Minor damage and paint loss.

A CHINAHEAD DOLL IN TRADITIONAL NORMANDY COSTUME
German, circa 1860
Glazed porcelain shoulder head, forearms and legs, fabric body.
Painted features and black hair. Original dressed in cotton jacket and striped red/black skirt trimmed with lace and an impressive headdress made of gold thread and lace. She holds in her left hand a very refined wicker basket and in her right hand, if possible, even more refined poultry. She stands on a round wooden base with a paper label that reads: ”Coiffure… du pays de … Normandie/…”.

AN EMBROIDERED NEEDLE CASE
19th Century
The front depicts a man and a woman sitting at a table with a house/birdcage on it, and the back shows what appears to be an Asian scene with figures and a pagoda in the background. The inside is lined with felt for storing pins/needles. Fastened with a pink silk ribbon.
